Composed by Karl Jenkins in 1999, The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace is a powerful multi-movement work that uses texts from a 15th-century popular song, poets such as Kipling and Tennyson, multi-cultural sources, and parts of the Mass. The movements of the work form a trajectory from fear of war, to pleading for salvation from war, to preparing for war, to the reality of war, to the horrible aftermath of war, to hope for peace, to mourning those lost in war, and finally, to optimism that peace is possible.

Please join Coro Lux and members of the New Mexico Philharmonic for a memorable evening of music that speaks to both the horrors of war and the hope of peace to come on Saturday, November 11, 2017 @ 7pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1100 Indian School NE, Albuquerque.
